Overseas professional Grant Roelofsen signs for Barrow Cricket Club
Barrow Cricket Club is pleased to announce the signing of overseas professional Grant Roelofsen.
The South African cricketer, 21, is heading to Ernest Pass for the 2018 season.
Right-hand batsman and wicketkeeper Grant made his first-class debut for Gauteng in the 2016–17 Sunfoil 3-Day Cup in October 2016 after impressive performances for Gauteng Under-19s, South Africa Schools XI, South Africa Under-19s.
Grant now plies his trade for KwaZulu-Natal Inland.
He said: “I'm looking forward to the challenges that playing for Barrow Cricket Club in the Northern League will pose.
“The conditions, obviously being very different to those in South Africa, may take some getting used to but hopefully I can adapt quickly.
“I’m really looking forward to meeting the lads, making new friends and getting involved in the club, where I can hopefully make a positive impact both on and off the field.”
Chairman Ray Mowat added: “We’re really looking forward to welcoming Grant to Barrow Cricket Club.
“Grant will also be a fantastic role model, particularly for our youth players, and will bring expert tips and advice when he joins the club later this year.”
