Dear Barrow Cricket Club members You may have heard through the grapevine that my dad, Gordon, passed away peacefully last Thursday 16th April. My brother Brian and I were with him at the time and he was free of pain and very well cared for by staff at his assisted living home in the north east of England, to which he moved only 7 months ago. Dad had a long, adventurous and active life. His final illness was mercifully short and we have many fond memories. I write principally for two reasons, first because he was a life member of the cricket club and this membership has sadly now come to an end. But secondly, because funerals are of course highly restricted affairs at the moment, we hope to arrange some sort of celebration of his life sometime later in the year, in Barrow. I will keep you up to date with our plans for anyone who would like to attend. Kind regards Alan (Gordon's eldest son) Alan Macgregor.
